Have you checked out a veggie burger lately? If you're one who's avoided veggie burgers because you thought they'd have no taste, you're missing out on a great burger substitute. These patties come in fat-free or low-fat varieties, and taste like the real thing -- a life saver when you're on a low-fat diet. And the prepared burgers are amazingly quick to prepare (a really big plus for time-crunched dieters) and burger alternatives are now a staple on the menus of many restaurants.

Many veggie burgers are soy-based (often labeled "hamburger style"), a boon for many dieters.
