Next Year

We had hoped to re-landscape our front yard this summer after having two overwhelmingly large spruce trees removed. However, we thought that it would be wisest to wait until our roof was re-shingled. That didn't happen until mid-August, and by then we weren't into starting with a landscaping project. It won't take much, as it's a very small area. We mostly have to clean up the rest of the remains of the tree, and get the bed ready for planting. I'm going to plant a few shrubs there, and replace the landscape lighting and call it good!

Couldn't Hurt?!

Do you ever watch "You Are What You Eat?" It's quite a good show. The dietitian is very hardcore. You eat legumes, and fibrous vegetables, and tofu, and a great number of rather unappealing food items! I'm sure I could never stick to her eating plan! The oddest thing she does, is requests a stool sample (I know.... ew) from each person, and can tell a lot about the person's health based on it! Blech! Then she always has them have a : colon cleanse before they start their new healthy lifestyle.

Arthritis Pain

I've stopped doing a lot of things because of the joint pain that I suffer from. Not that that is the proper thing to do, as you need to move it or lose it, but I tend to keep what strength I have for lifting, squatting, and bending for on the job. I was already out of work for 6 weeks a couple of years ago, so I hate to do extra curricular things that are going to end up keeping me out of work. I have osteo in my right shoulder and my knees. The joints are just worn out from years of sports and abuse. I've tried a few different things in searching for osteoarthritis relief, but lately, it's been not too bad, so I'm currently not taking anything.

The G5

My girlfriend at work just purchased a Pontiac G5. Now I love Pontiacs, but don't buy them, because if you're a tall person, there's a real issue with head room. None of us can "fit" in them. In fact I rode with her the other day, and it was reiterated to me how little head room there really is! Her car is black, which is fine, but also not a favourite of mine, and she has a spoiler, and I'm still undecided what my opinion of car spoilers really is. On some models, it just looks like it's stuck on there as an after-thought.

Relocation

When we move, one of our priorities, will be a really nice space for our big screen, plasma TV. The room we have now, isn't too bad, but we'd like a bigger space, where you can fit more people. We have great surround sound and it would be so much nicer in a larger room! Also, our current furniture is just about on it's last legs, and we're definitely going to replace it with leather theater seating and home theater carpet! I can't wait.

Refurbishing!

When we got married, my maid of honour's father, loved to do woodwork. He made us a wood serving tray and a wooden knife block for shower gifts. For a wedding gift, he made us a beautiful "bar cart". After many years, it started to look really dated. Not antiquish, but just "old". A couple of summers ago, I started working on stripping, and sanding it down. I've still not finished it, but when it's down to bare wood, I plan to give it a light coloured finish, and then add new cabinet hardware to it, to give it a newer, more modern look!

A New Addiction

My hubby would love poker tables! He has a crazy new "addiction" to poker. I think many people do, and I largely blame the internet, and television! Texas Hold 'Em, has reached almost epidemic like popularity! Hubby usually plays for fun, but occasionally, he plays for "real" and it scares the CRAP out of me!

This Summer

Our 24 year old daughter got married this summer! We had about 6 months to plan the event, as they got engaged on New Year's Day. Their wedding day was 07.07.07, so yes, we had to get our bums in gear! After booking the church, and hall, the first thing Sarah did, was go shopping for wedding invitations. I loved the invitations that she picked out! They were SO Sarah! They were pink, and informal, with a whimsical flower on them, and I just loved them!

Preschool

I just got the best news! I was pulled out of the preschool program at work, which I LOVED, and was really upset by that news. Today I just found out that I'm returning to preschool full time, which delights me to no end! We have probably about 2, if not 3 kids with autism, several severely speech delayed children, and a variety of other globally delayed children. We were supposed to get a child with cerebral palsy, but he ended up going to another school.

Shopping

Well I'm disappointed to say, that I've still not found any motivation to do something about my ever expanding girth. I keep thinking I'll get shocked into something, hit by a lightning bolt, or some other divine intervention. So far....not so much. I guess I'll at least get exercise today when I go shopping. I need to find a new wall sconce for our family room!
