Moving to Texas
Jay's middle sister is expecting her first baby in 3 weeks. As if that isn't enough of a life-changing experience, a couple of months ago, they flew to Texas, and checked out a bunch ofBranson homes for sale. They found a GREAT buy on a gorgeous home on one acre. I've seen the pictures, and it looks like South Fork! I just can't imagine what the 2 of them are going to do for work down there! They don't have work visas or anything, but after the baby is born, they're moving! I guess grandma is thinking of going down there and staying for a month or so.
My GF is Car Shopping
One of my good friends at work, is car shopping. She's been looking at a few different models, and everything from sports cars to SUV's. I think what she's leaning most towards right now, is a Charger. She's really fallen in love with it. She was even checking out Dodge Charger accessories, so I think she's fairly serious about it. I guess her next move is to check out financing, etc.
Mom Goes Digital
My Mom finally bought a flat screen plasma TV, a tv wall mount, and got herself hooked up to digital cable. She's lives alone, and really enjoys watching TV, so I don't know why she didn't do it a long time ago! I haven't talked to her since she got connected to see what she thinks of it, but I'm sure she's pretty excited about it! I'm finally getting the Canadian version of a TIVO. I don't know what they cost in the US, but it's very expensive here!! Accck!

Methane Gas Detector
We all know we need fire detectors in our homes. Also, as of late, they highly recommend a carbon monoxide detector, which to me, is hugely important, as one of my co-workers had one, and it went off, so they were able to open all the windows, and get out of the house. When they went in to test, it had a real high level of carbon monoxide. They were lucky! Now there ismethane gas detection equipment, although I have no idea where you'd use them!

Be Honest
Be totally honest with me. How many have you have considered either lap band surgery or taking diet pills? I sure have! I think the surgery more than the pills. I am on so darn many pills to begin with, that I'd be leery about what kind of interactions might be happening!
Garage Saling
I work in a preschool for special needs kids. We are located in the same elementary school that I've worked in for the past 15 years. I was in on this program when we started it up. We had nothing! I even painted the whole room myself! That summer, before we started up, we all did a lot of garage sale shopping. Looking for used, cheap, toys, swing sets, books, etc. We've saved a lot of money shopping that way, and through EBay!
Searching for My MoJo
Several years ago, our treadmill died a slow and painful death. My hubby had been using it faithfully, and it just died. I had it in my head that I would love an elliptical, so I sent hubby out to look at ellipticals. He came home with one, and I used it for about 4 days, and decided I wasn't very fond of it either! I just hate all that walking and getting nowhere! I just find it incredibly boring! Most people love them though!

Moving to BC
Ben and Jessica are in Kelowna as we speak. They are there looking for work, and finding a place to rent for a year. Their original plan was to buy a condo right away. After meeting with mortgage lenders, they discovered that they will have to live there for a new year, and establish themselves in that province before they can consider purchasing a place of their own. I'm quite happy about that actually, as it will give them time to make sure they've done the right thing by moving there.
Inclement Weather
We've always been fortunate enough to have a garage. With our weather it's much needed. You can add 1/2 hour onto your morning if you have to start your car, scrape the windows, etc. It's not a good time! If you don't have a garage, and you live in Canada, I definitely recommend looking into car covers as an option.

Plans
As soon as Jay and Sarah get a date when they will be able to move into the little farmhouse, they will be listing their condos. They will choose a place to build, and start getting that underway almost as soon as they move down there. When they are designing their new house, they are going to reserve one room for a Bose home theater system, because they are movie crazy, and would make a ton of use out of it. Especially out on the farm!

Securing A Future
We were discussing the future last night, and decided to take the loan insurance off our line of credit through the bank. It was ridiculously expensive, and they charged every month! Much rather be paying down the debt. We decided between our life insurance policies, and our mortgage insurance, we'd be just fine if the unthinkable happened.
Plans Change
As I mentioned previously, we were considering a trip to Vegas in the Spring. We were even looking into aVegas hotel, to see what suited us the most. When we started calculating the cost of a 4 day trip to Vegas, as opposed to a 10 day trip to Mexico, staying in an all-inclusive resort, we decided the Winter get-away was a much better value for our buck for us!
My Mom
My Mom turned 75 this fall. She's doing pretty well for herself. She still does almost all her yard work in the summer, including mowing all the grass, and pruning the shrubs. In the winter, she hires a man to do the shoveling for her, because that's just way too much.
She often looks into senior living places, as new ones get built in town, but they're so over priced, that she is hesitant to make the move.

What?
What do you suppose a Hilton Head rental is? Does it mean you can rent Paris or Nikki Hilton's head for an occasion? Hopefully their brains don't come with the package! Or perhaps it's got something to do with the Hilton hotels that made their family fortune. Either way, I want no part of it.
Retirement
One thing hubby and I have discussed doing in our retirement is buying a great motor home, or 5th wheel trailer, some camping gear and taking off. We've discussed touring around the USA and following some of the Edmonton Oilers games around the United States. It could be an awesome time I think!

A Thought
I just had a thought while surfing around. Since I'm puzzled as to what I want for my birthday, and since we're talking about going on a vacation next winter for our 30th wedding anniversary, perhaps I should as for a really nice set of Samsonite luggage! We just have odds and ends and real crappy bags. I think that could be a really good idea!
Thought About It
I just recently bought all new living room furniture, and then moved all the old living room furniture into the family room. I seriously considered theater seating for that room, as that's where our plasma TV is, but it just isn't big enough, so I scrapped that idea.Maybe it's something to think about in our next house.

What's On My Wish List?
It's my 50th birthday in a few months, and I'm trying to make sure I drop some really good hints with hubby! I've considered ebel watches, necklaces and things, but I don't think I want that type of thing. I've also really thought I wanted a good digital camera, but then I think maybe I will never take the time to learn to use it properly. I guess I have a couple more months to think about it!

Dream House
My co-worker and her finace are in the process of having their dream home built. It's been a lot of fun listening to her plans, and hearing about all the finishes that they are choosing. His custody arrangement has recently been changed, so they have decided to make a den, after-all, so she was telling us about the office furniture they had been looking at. Funny, because I just converted my home office back into a sitting room!
Please With My Start
Well now that my first week back at work is over, I'm quite pleased with my progress. I took the dogs for a walk after work 4 days, and will go at least one more on the weekend, so I think that's a reasonable beginning. I can already feel my stamina improving slightly. Considering the frigid temps, I'm quite impressed that I stuck with it! It really helps that the puppies are so excited to go every time. That really adds motivation. I have also cooked dinner every night since Sunday, so that's good for around here! Those are my 2 main objectives to begin with.
I never mentioned it here before, but for Christmas, my Mom had hers and my Dad's wedding rings, as well as her gold nursing pin melted down, and made into a band for me. It's a really nice sentiment, and I'm very happy to have it!

Little Man
About 10 years ago, I was working in the special needs classroom in our school. We got 4 new little kindergarten aged boys one year. One had down syndrome, one had cerebral palsy, another was autistic. The fourth was severally delayed. We had so much fun in those years! All those little boys. Don't get me wrong, in the beginning, it was a nightmare, but we had them all for 7 years, and we grew to love them all like our own.
Years Ago
Many years ago, when Ben was a teen ager, we made platform beds out of our hot tub! It was a great room, with a sauna (now cedar closet), and a 3 piece bathroom. We emptied the hot tub, and hubby built an insert for the tub, put a covered sheet of plywood over that, and added a 6 inch custom foam mattress, and voila a platform bed! He ended up having an awesome room down there and was very happy for many years. Of course now, he wouldn't fit on it any more, since he's grown about 7 inches since then!

Moving
A New York Moving Company isn't going to do Ben and Jess any good. They're moving to BC in May. They don't plan on taking much of their furniture with them at all, as it will just be too costly to move it all, and then store it until they find a place of their own. I'm not certain just what pieces they plan on taking. I think just what they can fit in Ben's truck.
Getting Older
Once you've had kids, something happens to ones' bladder. Now it seems that when one coughs too hard, or sneezes, you have have to cross your legs to prevent a slight oops! Hopefully it doesn't get worse as I get older, although I've heard that it does, and you sometimes need to have your bladder repaired. Either that, or there will be incontinence supplies in your future!
Get Organized
My hubby is great in most regards, but he is a garage SLOB! He will spend a whole day cleaning, and organizing it, and within a week, it's already starting to get messy. Every time he brings a tool into the house to fix something, it takes him a week to move it from the house back into the garage, and it just gets tossed on the workbench. Pretty soon, it's a whole pile of tools and junk laying there again! I seriously need to look into some tool storage for him that will actually work!

Conclusion
During my mass cleaning extravaganza in getting the house ready for the birthday party, and Christmas I finally reached the conclusion that we desperately need new Kohler sinks in the kitchen. Mine is so old and scratched up, and beat up and worn out, that I can't get it nice and clean and shiny no matter what I do to it. It's not a look I want in my kitchen! It just doesn't look as clean as it should (even if it is clean). I'll have to start working on hubby in the new year!
Furniture
When my brother moved into his brand new condo a couple of years ago, he had an island put in the kitchen, which also served as a breakfast bar. We looked high and low for just the right bar stools. We just could not find what we wanted. We knew exactly what we were looking for. We wanted the same ones as what they had in the show suite. I FINALLY found the exact ones we wanted, and he ordered them. They look great!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you!!
My son Ben, called here the other day, as he and his fiance were out doing some last minute Christmas shopping. They wanted some ideas regarding what they should buy for hubby. I came up pretty much totally blank! Duh! Then, of course later it occurs to me that I could have told them to look at some gold cufflinks, as he's been wearing shirts that require cuff links lately. I also thought later that he would have been thrilled with some new pajama pants. He likes to wear them around the house in the evening, and his are getting rather fugly!

Hook Up
Jay and Sarah bought a big screen LCD TV a couple of months ago. They've slowly been buying all the bits and pieces and Cat6 cable in order to get their surround sound hooked up. Sarah also got Jay a XBox for his birthday, so they needed a wireless modem for that as well. I think they've got it all just about set up and operating properly. They're really enjoying it!

Roughing It
My girlfriend is going through withdrawal since she moved to their brand new gorgeous house they recently had built in the country. They are impatiently waiting for the fiber optic cables to be run in their area, so that the can finally have internet access! She's also less than impressed with "peasant vision", as opposed to digital cable that she was previously accustomed to. She previously ran a triathlon, and was in top physical shape. Since she got so involved in the building of their house, and overseeing all of that, she has really let her fitness slip. Don't get me wrong, she hasn't put on so much weight that's she's even chubby, she's just not as lean as she once was. She still finds to get on the treadmill, but that's been the extent of it!

IPod Goodness
I must have excellent ipod batteries! I don't have to charge that thing, nearly as often as I have to charge my cell phone! It lasts for a very long time! I'm really glad about that, as nothing is more annoying than weak batteries! My first laptop couldn't hold a charge for more than half an hour, and it drove me batty!
Info
Has anyone ever tried hoodia? I've heard a lot of good things about it. Apparently a lot of people in Hollywood are big users of the hoodia suckers that are available. They're supposed to drastically suppress your appetite. You'd think you'd still feel physically sick, if you weren't eating very often because you weren't ever hungry?! Have you read any negative things??

Moving
My son and his fiancee are moving to Kelowna at the beginning of May. In April, they want my hubby to go down there with them to look at real estate. They will live with his fiancee's Mom for a while, but eventually, my son wants to buy a fixer-up condo. He's a carpenter, and right now is doing finishing carpentry, so he is very willing to fix it up himself.

Only Her
One of my co-workers is 26 years old. Just a bit older than my daughter. In fact she and I joke that I'm her "beige" mother as she is Latino. She is also tall like my daughter, although not quite as tall. The other day she came to work in a pair of knee high sexy boots, with black tights, a red and white striped top, and a black sweater over top of that. At first I told her she looked like she should be on "Pirates of the Carribean". All of a sudden it struck me who she really looked like.......Puss and Boots!!

As a Kid
I grew up on a farm. We lived there until I was 16. I've always been crazy about animals! Being on a farm, of course, we had lots of cats. I had a few different dogs as well over the years. I also had a horse. The first one, was a pony, that was more like a dog, he'd come galloping across the field to where I was. It was pretty funny! When I outgrew her, I bought a regular sized horse, and had her for several days. I rode western style though, so I never had horse riding apparel other than my cowboy boots!
November 22, 2007
Lazy Ass
One thing I don't like about where I live, is that we have to go to local mailboxes to pick up our mail! I miss just being able to open my front door, and get the mail! I also hate the fact that with the economic boom in Alberta, they're having a hard time hiring extra personnel to deliver the mail to the growing town, so I swear we only get mail delivery every second day or so!
Same Problem, Different Co-worker
Have you ever known people who were born with what seems to be the worst luck??! Another one of my co-workers, grew up with alcoholic parents, and her father abused her. She moved away, and got married, had children, while her mom was in and out of drug rehabilitation. She went into a sever post-partum depression, but didn't realize it. While she was suffering through this, her hubby took it upon himself to have an affair! So, her marriage ended. Just seems like she can't catch a break!
Problems
One of the girls I work with, has been very casually dating a man. She really likes him, and they have a lot of fun together, but he drinks way too much and then gets rather mean and bossy when he's drunk. She obviously doesn't want to get any more involved than she is with him because of this. She's being very wise! She's told him if he doesn't go into drug rehab, nothing more can ever go on with them. I'm very proud of her decision!
Another Gift Idea
Sarah and Jay, and my son all have a memory foam mattress. They absolutely rave about them! I don't sleep very well, not more than a couple of hours at a time. I'm always flipping from one side to the other. I told my mom that I want a memory foam for my king sized bed! I think it would really help me sleep better!
Blue Tooth
My phone is a Treo 650 and I'm quite happy with it. The camera is not very good at all, but the phone itself is quite nice. I would like to get one of the newer ones because mine keeps shutting itself off frequently, and that is very annoying. Perhaps I'll put a hint in to Santa for a new Treo, and a Bluetooth headset! Then I'd be all fixed up!

Buy, Sell
By the end of May, 2008, all 4 of our children will be moving out of the city. Ben and Jess are moving to Kelowna on the May long weekend. Ben is hoping to buy a condo there shortly after they move. At the end of May, when Jay graduates from University, he and Sarah plan to sell both of their condos, and move to the farm. They have a little house on the farm that they will live in while they build their own house there. I think that if I had a real estate franchise I could make a mint off of my kids in the next year!

Take a Trip
Has anyone ever traveled to Branson Missouri? We're thinking about taking a vacation for our 30th wedding anniversary in one year. I first grew interested in visiting there when I watched the Country Music Awards show one year when they were hosted there. I also saw a piece on TV about all the little theaters that are there, owned by different country music stars, where they put on private intimate concerts!

Do You Know?
Everyone knows how much your overall health, and how well you take care of yourself affects your general well being. It's thought that several different foods can either aid in the prevention of different types of cancer, and other lifestyles may incur a predisposition to cancer. One thing we all know is that smoking is the one definite habit that will much more than likely end up badly with some form of cancer. Whether it's lung cancer, caused by smoking, or Mesothelioma cancer caused by working in an environment polluted with asbestos.

Next Project
The last rooms we have to renovate in our house are the bathrooms. The sinks are old school shell type sinks, and out dated like crazy. The shower doors are old and dated and flooring is dark and nasty. I can't wait to re-finish it all! The very worst part is the bathroom lights! They are those "dressing room" ones, and nothing says 70's like those!

Ryan Smyth #94
I'm a huge Edmonton Oilers hockey fan, and a big Ryan Smyth fan as well. Sadly, he was traded away to Colorado at the end of February. It was the biggest disappointment to Edmonton fans since Gretzky was traded! I think I should go stay at a Colorado bed and breakfast and catch a few Avalanche games to cheer on Smytty!

Could Have Used Some Help
Ever since I started watching HGTV all the time (about years ago), I've picked up a lot of helpful tips that I've been able to use both in my home and at school. If you remember, 3 years ago, I painted our whole classroom prior to us opening our brand new preschool class. I also painted all the little wooden chairs, and all the shelving and cupboards. The other day, I found a big stash of heavy vinyl in the school store room that had been donated. I recovered the top of this ugly little table we had. If I had Ingersoll Rand air tools, namely a staple gun, it would have been so much easier and quicker!

Can You Tell?
Tell me something. When you are taking your nutritional supplements, can you tell the difference? When I was on 'the right track', I took quite a few different vitamins and things. Now of course, I take nothing, because I'm an all or nothing kind of person! The thing is, I've never been able to "feel" any difference from when I'm taking them or not. I've heard people tell me how they notice a huge improvement. I can't say that's ever been my experience!
Think About It!
You'd think that a company would do some market research before making certain decisions. The company that my husband works for is American owned. While that's all well and good, they're sometimes way off base when making certain decisions. For instance, in our province, we are undergoing a huge boom, and it's very difficult to find laborers. The market is extremely competitive. Therefore, the wage this company pays it's young part time staff, is way too low to be anywhere near competitive in this current economy! My husband's hiring requirement now, is, "If they've got a pulse, hire them!"
October 24, 2007
I Hate to Admit It
I hate to admit it, but I am not a football fan! As much as I am a crazed Edmonton Oilers hockey fan, I could give 2 rat's behinds about football. In fact, if I won Super Bowl tickets, I would NOT go! Fortunately, I'm quite unlikely to win such a contest, and if I did, hubby is equally unlikely to find out that we won! heh

World Series Anyone?
The world series starts this week. I don't know how much I'll actually watch, but I was certainly inspired by the comeback performance of the Boston Red Sox. I guess I paid attention because I know a few Red Sox fans, so it clicked more than normal with me. I wonder if any of them have world series tickets! Sure would be excitingI I know because we got to experience the Stanley Cup finals 2 years ago, and it was one of the best experiences of my life!

Rather Morbid
Over Thanksgiving, my Mom, Sarah and I were discussing people who have DNR orders, who are in an accident or something, and the emergency response people don't know that the DNR exists, so they take any and all extreme measures to save their life, only to maybe leave them in a state worse than before. I suggested to Mom, who wears one of those medical gold bracelets to inform people that she has a pacemaker, that she should get DNR inscribed on the other side. She thought she just might do that.

A Little Bit of Fun
I am just starting to think about Christmas, and gifts. Every year it seems to get a little bit harder every year. The kids get older, they get fussier, and it's just not a very easy experience! Gone are the days when you could just go out and buy a doll, and some crayons, or a teddy bear for Sarah, and some Lego, a hockey stick and some slot cars for Ben! Now it's much more complicated!
October 12, 2007
Darn Knees!
My knees have been REALLY bad for the past few weeks. I'm hoping it's just the damp, cold, fall weather that we've been having. I think that they'll get better once the weather settles down some. I sure hope so, as it makes even walking any distance impossible. My knees not only ache, but they "give out" on me, so it's really getting annoying! When I think of all that I was able to do just a few short years ago, it astounds me! I best be buying some fishing tackle, because soon, that's the only sport my knees will let me participate in! hmmmph
October 5, 2007
Pondering
I'm starting to slowly get my mind wrapped around the whole idea of Christmas shopping, as much as it totally "annoys" me. I've figured out a couple of gifts for people, but basically I'm fairly clueless. I know that Sarah and Jay just want things from their wedding registry, I'm thinking of one of the Luminox watches for hubby, and I'm basically hooped when it comes to Ben and Jess.

Next Year
We had hoped to re-landscape our front yard this summer after having two overwhelmingly large spruce trees removed. However, we thought that it would be wisest to wait until our roof was re-shingled. That didn't happen until mid-August, and by then we weren't into starting with a landscaping project. It won't take much, as it's a very small area. We mostly have to clean up the rest of the remains of the tree, and get the bed ready for planting. I'm going to plant a few shrubs there, and replace the landscape lighting and call it good!

The G5
My girlfriend at work just purchased a Pontiac G5. Now I love Pontiacs, but don't buy them, because if you're a tall person, there's a real issue with head room. None of us can "fit" in them. In fact I rode with her the other day, and it was reiterated to me how little head room there really is! Her car is black, which is fine, but also not a favourite of mine, and she has a spoiler, and I'm still undecided what my opinion of car spoilers really is. On some models, it just looks like it's stuck on there as an after-thought.

Relocation
When we move, one of our priorities, will be a really nice space for our big screen, plasma TV. The room we have now, isn't too bad, but we'd like a bigger space, where you can fit more people. We have great surround sound and it would be so much nicer in a larger room! Also, our current furniture is just about on it's last legs, and we're definitely going to replace it with leather theater seating and home theater carpet! I can't wait.

Preschool
I just got the best news! I was pulled out of the preschool program at work, which I LOVED, and was really upset by that news. Today I just found out that I'm returning to preschool full time, which delights me to no end! We have probably about 2, if not 3 kids with autism, several severely speech delayed children, and a variety of other globally delayed children. We were supposed to get a child with cerebral palsy, but he ended up going to another school.

Shopping
Well I'm disappointed to say, that I've still not found any motivation to do something about my ever expanding girth. I keep thinking I'll get shocked into something, hit by a lightning bolt, or some other divine intervention. So far....not so much. I guess I'll at least get exercise today when I go shopping. I need to find a new wall sconce for our family room!

Not For Me
My son, and his girlfriend LOVE watching the world poker championships on TV. I personally don't get the appeal, largely because I don't understand it at all, and can't be bothered to sit and watch it long enough to learn. The other reason I don't care to get interested, is that I have such an addictive personality, that I'd likely end up sitting in some smoky casino in a ratty sweater with my lucky gnome, trying to win back my pension cheque! The only thing I enjoyed about it for as long as I watched, was the beautiful Bellagio hotel where the championships were held. WOW!
I Guess
I think I have a small life insurance policy through work, but I'm not positive (I know... that's lame). I definitely have mortgage insurance, so that if I bite it, the house is paid off. It just occurred to me now, that since I've stopped taking proper care of myself, I'd have to fill out an insurance application stating that I'm morbidly obese, have hyper tension, and I think that's it. What do you think my chances of getting term life insurance would be now?? Not taking care of yourself has so very many more ramifications than just the number on the scale. We just don't always realize it while we're self destructing.
Ideas Welcome
I would love to find a home based business that would earn me enough money to quit my job. While I earn a nice amount of extra money from my paid posts, it isn't enough to retire on. It's just supplemental at this time. I know I do not want to sell anything, because I'd starve if I had to sell things for a living! heh
August 30, 2007
Hard To Believe
It's hard to believe, but my husband can retire in 5 years. I doubt that he will, as I think he'll stick it out another 10, and then do something less stressful for a few more years after that, in order to maximize his pension. I don't have a company pension, so I plan on working about 3-4 more years, less if I find I can keep increasing the money I have been earning at home. So, in about 2 years, I think we will be able to check out Tampa real estate and see if it has potential as a winter home!

Question
I'm getting annoyed with my laptop. It's really starting to run slowly! I think it's because I have too many photos from Sarah's wedding on here, as well as too many MP3's! Have any of you upgraded your IBM memory yourselves, or do you always take it in to a computer specialist. I was wondering if it's a difficult job, or if I can save some money by doing it myself. I certainly don't want to mess things up though!

Issues
My brother bought a brand new condo last year. It has an island in the center of the kitchen, between it, and the living room. It's set up quite nice, enabling you to comfortably sit at the island, and watch TV (he's a bachelor, so it's acceptable in his case). When we went and viewed it, to pick all the colors, etc, they had the neatest little bar stools in the show suite. The were an odd shape, and made of wicker. I finally found them for him, and he ordered the exact same ones. Trouble is, for ladies with a big ghetto booty like me, they're not that comfortable!!
Before....
I remember the first year I started my job. I was MUCH!! slimmer. Still about 15 pounds overweight, but a FAR cry from where I find myself now! I was working in a Grade One classroom, so I dressed up as a big, chicken that Halloween. Ha! So much fun, because the kids didn't know that it was me! This year, the size that I am, the only type of animal costume that will suit me, is a hippo! *groan*

Life Changes
It's odd how time passes, and life changes. 29 years ago (gawd I'm old), I had just gotten engaged a few months prior, had a great job in the accounts payable department, working with financial reporting software, making good money, working with great people, and partying my head off. I smoked then, and I had a nice tall, slim body. Hmmm... now? Not so much!!

I was flipping through a Cosmo magazine yesterday while in the doctor's office, and I began noticing all the male models abs. You've got to love a perfectly sculpted, and bronzed 6 pack! You've also got to admire the amount of work and dedication it takes to get that look! (well that, and someone skilled with photoshop). I also noted that nearly every one of them were wearing swiss army watches. Guess it's part of the package.

Which is Best?
For those of you that have a larger number of children, than you do bedrooms, I need some opinions. If 2 or more of your children have to share a bedroom, do they do better in twin beds or bunk beds? An acquaintance of mine is rapidly popping out children faster than they can expand their house!!

Vacation Wishing
I've been surfing the web and drooling over many different vacation locations. I found some awesome Pigeon Forge vacation rentals, but I have one question: Where the hell is Pigeon Forge??

Doesn't Fit In
I apologize for having some very irrelevant postings here. I just added the proper categories for each of my blogs with one of the companies that pay me to blog, so that very soon I won't have to be posting about executive desks and office furniture on a weight loss blog any more!

Release the Stress
Ever since hearing about all the fun Sarah and Jay had on their Hawaiian honeymoon, I've had a big urge to go away somewhere. Somewhere like the Outer Banks. It looks fabulous!

Have You Been?
While my brain is in holiday mode, I've been searching around online looking for ideas. We've been to Disneyland a couple of times before, but never to Disneyworld in Florida. I hear great things about it, and we both really enjoy those types of vacations. It would be even more fun if we reserved a Orlando rental home, and then took Jay, Sarah, Ben and Jess with us!

Get Away
I've had a hard time recovering from this wedding! We've been home for nearly 2 weeks, during which time it's been super hot, because of that, I just don't seem to have the energy to do much. I really need to get back into some kind of routine again. Either that, or I'm going on a vacation to aVermont bed and breakfast and relax!

Foreign Owners
My husband is a manager of a large grocery chain store. I don't know very much about retail sales and management, other than what I've listened to (sometimes endlessly) and learned from him over the years. One thing I do know, is that this chain is owned by a company in another country. Sometimes the decisions they make, regarding products, and pricing, or changes in policy just don't make much sense for "here"! In spite of their market research, they still don't always hit the mark.

Father's Day
This past weekend, was of course, Father's Day. Sarah, Ben and Jess were all able to come out for dinner, which was nice. They were all pretty weary however, as Ben and Jess had been out partying with friends Friday night, celebrating Jess's 20th birthday, and then went out to join Sarah and Jay's weekend stag/stagette at the lake! I think they were all partied out! Sarah is very good at coming up with really great, thoughtful gifts. This years she bought her and her Dad concert tickets to go see the Beatles impersonator group. (I forget their name at this moment) Hubby was thrilled!!
No Way!
I own 3 fossil watches. I love them, and they've been great! I have 3, because of course one needs different colours! The one I tend to wear the most often, is my black one. Yesterday morning, I put it on as usual, and all was well. I was doing bus supervision, glanced at my watch to see if it was time to open the doors, and my watch had stopped! It's not that old, so I'm thinking that it has to just be a battery that's died! At lest, I'm hoping that's all it is!
Retirement Thoughts
Hubby and I are very close to turning 50 *gag* and hopefully by then, I'll be able to say "fit and fifty" instead of "fat and fifty"! Besides moaning about our middle-aged bodies, we also have been trying to come with a plan as to where we want to retire. We're fairly certain we don't want to retire in our current home, as it's too big, and there's too many stairs for my decrepit old knees. We wildly fluctuate between thinking of retiring to a condo in the big city, or a smaller home in the country, a nc waterfront property, or a small town closer to where Sarah and Jay will be permanently living. I guess we still have a few years to decide, but not so many to get fit!!
